However, with the air pollution in this day and age, using an air - conditioner is sometimes a safer way to keep bad air out. Innovating Open Space With More Nature.
A large number of people think that this pandemic means the end of open-floor offices. However, the COVID -19 truly affects the organization and individual perception about work, workplace, and work-related behavior. Hence, we need to take this into account those factors before making changes.
On the positive side, open office offers better use of space and reduces the cost of real estate, as well as offers more social interaction and communication as advantages. Therefore, building physical barriers between desks will prevent employee interaction which directly affects the flexibility and employees' performance.
On the negative side, an open - plan workplace can produce distractions that prevent employees from paying attention to their tasks and can cause other problems too. In addition, working in open workspace could make several people feel uncomfortable due to lack of privacy. This may lead to adverse effects on members’ productivity.
In general, open workstations have
both pros and cons to consider. Some experts say that the open‐plan workspaces
could be rebuilt with better consideration for more personal space, more
nature, and stricter cleaning schedules as well to make sure to reduce the
amount of air exchange from person to
person but still have space for people working together in
several rooms for a wide range of activities.
More Handwashing Stations.
After Covid -19 pandemic, people have a habit of washing their hands frequently, hence, equipping more handwashing stations is extremely important. Thanks to this good habit, disease transmission is also mitigated. Office design

have been surprised by how quickly and effectively technologies and other forms
of digital collaboration were adopted. It is undeniable that technology allows the disease
status to be dynamically monitored. As a result, it can be easily
predicted in the future,
technology will play a central role in enabling employees to return to office
buildings and to work safely. With modern technology, employers can keep track
of the number of employees who go to work. Besides, it also helps to reduce
touching surfaces which can contain contaminated viruses.
